ERR 1117 Oil Pump

The ERR 1117 oil pump assembly is an aftermarket replacement oil pump for which the supplier does not disclose the manufacturer.

This oil pump is intended for the 2.5 applications as listed below although it will fit the earlier Series 2, 2a and 3 engines. Land Rover towards the end of the production of the 2.25 fitted the 2.5 oil pump to both 2.25 and 2.5 petrol applications.

2.25 application:
This oil pump can sound slightly noisy in the 2.25 Petrol Series applications as they have straight cut gears. Our advise for the 2.25 application would be to strip and inspect the original oil pump and perhaps replace the internals only, if the castings are sounds. If the gears are in good shape they can simply be re; used. The original 2.25 pumps are for all intents and purposes silent in their operation.
