Shim Kit (to set lifter preload)

Lifter preload is the distance between the pushrod seat in the lifter and the circlip when the lifter is on the heel of the cam and the valve is closed.

Not setting the lifter preload, could cause premature wear, or something to break. If preload is too high; the hydrocarbon reading will be too high to pass the MOT.

The shim kit comes with full instructions and contains three sets of shim thicknesses: thin,  medium and thick. Use when rebuilding
